Unattached building used for postgraduate study and events. Shaped in an octagon plan layout, the building comprises a lower basement, basement, reading room level and upper gallery levels.

The kitchen in the 1937 is a space to eat, socialise and relax. It has a mix of couches, tables and chairs and high stools. The kitchen has a microwave and kettle. The kitchen seats up to 15 people, and id divided by arches which create smaller spaces within the room. Generally the space is reasonably quiet. As an eating area, there will be some aromas in this space.

Located just off the main Academic Registry is a sensory space which can be used either as an informal respite space / quiet area, or as an area to meet with Academic Registry staff with any queries that you may have. Generally it is used for individual meetings in September, but is available as a quiet space for the remainder of the year.

A large meeting room, with tables, chairs, projectors and a large interactive monitor. This space provides a quiet meeting or presentation space, with good natural light and is also used for group activities through the Disability Service and College Health Service.

Aras an Phiarsaigh houses a café area, IT Service Desk, computer rooms, Dept. of Clinical Psychology and teaching spaces. This building contains varied and contrasting sensory stimuli. The foyer area upon entry is bright and consists of a clear open space. The humming sounds of the café and vending machines are noticeable here. As you move into the main part of the building the light levels change from bright and natural, to darker, to lighter again and to darker again. There is a large amount of signage and sources of information, which can be visually overwhelming particularly if you are not familiar with the space.

The Arts Building contains many large lecture theatres on the ground floor as well as seating areas and a coffee shop. There are a range of different department located on the upper floors along with various seminar rooms, classrooms and offices.

This space provides comfortable furniture and flexible lighting to allow students to rest and recuperate. If you’ve had a busy day of lectures, or just need a break from an overwhelming sensory environment, this can be a good place to relax for an hour. The room must be booked in advance of being used as it can only be used by one person at a time. The Arts Building Respite Space is managed by the Disability Service and is provided only to students who have applied for supports with the DS. Only those who have been specifically referred for respite by their Disability Officer can access this room. Your student card needs to be activated on referral from your Disability Officer. Entry to Room 2032 in the Arts Building is by student card access only and must be booked in advance of use. Students are limited to 1 booking per day to ensure availability for other students. Room 2032 can be booked through the Online Booking Calendar only.

The Atrium is centre of student society life, hosing several bookable rooms for society events and meetings. The main hall comprises of a four storey oak interior and is within the Dining Hall Complex, linking all levels of the building (Namely the Buttery and Dining Hall).

Botanic Gardens
The garden’s origins date back over 330 years to its inception in 1687 as a physic garden for the teaching of medicine at Trinity College. Since then it has changed location twice, and has been at Dartry, Dublin 6 since 1967. Today, the garden serves as a teaching and research facility for the Trinity College Botany Department. It is home to a living collection of approximately 4000 species, and also houses the Irish Threatened Plant Seedbank.

Enclosed Study Pods
Lecky Library
If you prefer minimal visual stimuli, we have developed a number of areas with pods containing enclosed study desks. For example, there are two sets of quiet study pods on the Upper Level of the Lecky Library, which provide enclosure and reduced visual distraction, but also provide generous study space between each desk in an area with good natural light. If you want to work on assignments without any visual distractions, these pods are a great resource. Each pod has a comfortable chair and a desk, and is almost fully enclosed by a privacy screen.

Transition spaces, typically located near Library entrances or stairwells, allow you to orientate yourself to a new sensory environment. These areas provide a range of seating where you can pause to study, or just sit for a few minutes before moving to other parts of the Library.

If you want a more casual study space, the transition spaces are perfect. This one is located just inside the main entrance to the Lecky Library and has a variety of comfortable seating options. This study space has excellent natural light, with some ambient background noise. There are a number of seating options such as enclosed acoustic seating, rocking chairs and fixed high back seating.

The Fitzgerald Building, commonly referred to as the Physics Building, The ground floor contains labs and offices, while the basement has the radioactive storage and laser room. The first and second floors have the tea room, offices and labs, and an observatory can be found on the roof. The Department of Physics can be found in this building.

The library houses a collection of laboratory equipment, with tables and seating for study usage. Occasionally the room is used for lectures.
Foster Place
Formerly the Allied Irish Banks Branch, this 3,211 sq.m. protected structure comprises of the old Hibernian Club at 2-4 Foster Place and an adjoining complex comprising of 30-34 Anglesea Street (inclusive). It is spread mostly over four floors and includes the Grand Banking Hall, the Roll of Honour and a large vault in the basement. The entire array of buildings currently accommodates a variety of permanent and temporary academic and administrative office functions.

The Library houses a collection of books, journals and maps, as well as past dissertations and theses undertaken by Geography students. The Freeman provides a quiet working space for individual and group study, and is located on the ground floor in the Museum Building. Membership of the library is open to students reading geography.

A welcoming student support hub and event space on campus for all Trinity students, managed by the International Student Liaison Officer. The Global Room service is supported by a team of Global Ambassadors, students trained to help students with a wide range of queries ranging from immigration and accommodation practicalities to the basics of settling into life in Dublin and at Trinity. There is enclosed seating in the corner of the Global Room, to offer some separation from the overall space.

There is also a large student space at the front of the Hamilton Building.

This is a room specifically for staff/students who experience pain or fatigue due to a disability (respite), or who are breastfeeding and would like a quiet space for this (parenting). It has seating, adjustable lighting, and a sink. This room can only be used by one person at a time, and can be booked online for one-hour slots by those using it as a respite space. For more information on booking, College Health Respite Space is located just off the main reception area in the College Health Centre at Printing House Square and is available Monday to Friday from 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm. The building was built originally as a boiler house circa mid 1900s, of 2 storey height construction and served by one external staircase accessing an upper storeroom, there are no lift facilities. During the buildings' life it has remained as originally constructed, a conversion during mid 1980's to a laundry centre and later self service Launderette. The main ground floor room forms part of the overall structure with washing and drying machines.

Oldham house provides a number of lovely sensory spaces with a variety of seating including enclosed chairs, couches, and rocking chairs. The rooms at the front of Oldham House provide very nice natural light from the big bay windows. Spaces can be used as social or study spaces when quiet. There is a library upstairs with seating for 16 students for quiet study. Access to Oldham House is from 8.00am to 11.30pm. Residents wishing to hold functions and events can book various rooms and areas throughout the communal social space. The upper floors are served by a main central staircase and are therefore inaccessible to wheelchair users. The building comprises of common rooms, leisure facilities and an assembly hall. There are additional social spaces at the back of Oldham house with two pool tables.

It has comfortable seating and can also be used for studying or working on assignments, as it has several charging points. However, it can get quite busy/noisy around lunchtime.

This is a small outdoor garden, located close to the Pav and Cricket Pitch while remaining a relatively quiet, peaceful location as it is largely enclosed by flowers and trees. There are several benches for people to sit and relax or enjoy a tea/coffee while reaping the benefits of being out in nature.
SU Cafe
Goldsmith Hall
This is a Student Zone/ Zón Mac Léinn that’s right next to the SU Café, so you can purchase food there or bring your own. There’s a microwave provided for heating your own food, and lots of tables and chairs, as well as a few couches. You can also relax here between classes, especially if you have a lot of lectures in Goldsmith Hall.

It’s especially good for having lunch if you’re bringing in your own food, as there are microwaves and a kettle provided. The Smurfit Institute housing research labs, a reception area, a computer lab, workshops and offices. The decending entrance to a series of lecture halls (East End Lecture Threatre 1,2 & 3) and computer labs that are sub-ground level can be found within this building.

South Leinster Street houses Student Counselling, The Careers Advisory Service and Other Academic Departments including the Centre for Deaf Studies and Clinical Speech and Language. Sports Centre Respite Room

This is a space for students who regularly experience pain or fatigue as a result of a disability, and must be booked in advance of being used. It can only be used by one person at a time, and it provides comfortable furniture and flexible lighting to allow students to rest and recuperate. If you’ve had a busy day of lectures, or just need a break from an overwhelming sensory environment, this can be a good place to relax for an hour. The respite room in the Sports Centre is available for booking Mondays to Fridays from 9am to 6pm. The respite room in the Sports Centre is a shared space and may be pre-booked for other uses. The building is made up of three separate buildings which have all been joined together at different times into one building. The buildings have between 4 and 6 floors, with a variety of facilities in them including: Offices for post grads, staff from various departments.

This is a Student Zone/ Zón Mac Léinn available for students to relax in, whether that’s for eating lunch, chatting with friends, or sitting down and resting between lectures. It’s especially suitable for STEM students who spend a lot of time at the east end of TCD campus and want somewhere to sit down for an hour or two between classes.

The Lir
The Lir Academy was established in 2011 to satisfy identified needs within the theatre, TV and film industries. Offering a range of undergraduate, postgraduate and short courses, The Lir Academy is successfully supplying the theatre, film, TV and related industries with students who have been trained to the highest standards possible. All training from introductory level to degree level is taught by industry professionals who take immense pride in teaching their craft. Voice and movement training are core elements to the acting degree and also are stand alone short courses on offer to established actors who are interested in improving their skills and to actors in training. Technical courses range from introductory courses in lighting, sound, stage management and costume, to the three year Bachelor degree in Stage Management and Technical Theatre (SMTT). The Lir Academy is synonymous with professional training in acting, voice, movement, stage management, stage construction, scenic art, lighting, sound, costume, playwriting, theatre directing and stage design. The Lir Academy is housed in a custom-designed building with facilities catering to the range of training on offer.
The Lloyd Institute

The Lloyd Institute houses a basement which contains four large lecture halls and lockers for students on one level, the MRI rooms, the video conference room, and some computer labs on the other. The Ground Floor to the 3rd floor contains the main reception and large and small offices and computer labs. On the fourth floor are large and small labs and high-performance computer rooms. Also in this Building is Computer Science and Statistics - Lloyd, Management Science & Information, Neurosciences and Telecommunications Value-chain Research.

The Old Library
Book of Kells, The Long Room Building
The Building is accessible at all levels. Throughout most of the building's life it was the main library for Trinity College. During 1992 a major fit-out of the ground floor was carried out to convert areas accommodating the 'Exhibition Area', Treasury Room (Book of Kells room) and Library Shop. The building is shaped in an rectangular plan layout comprising; ground floor, first floor level is dominated by the 'Long Room' books storage and reading room area, there are upper gallery areas for further books storage in the east and west sides of the Long Room, upper floor levels at both east and west ends of the building accommodating Early Printed Books and Manuscripts Sections, there is also an 'attic' level area to each east and west end. The main doors from the south elevation provides general public access into the building, a further west access door at ground floor allows staff to enter the Manuscripts section, an underground corridor link from the Berkeley Library gives students and staff access to the Early Printed Books section of the building from the east side. The public access areas of the building is a main visitor attraction in Dublin city, housing the national treasure 'Book of Kells' and viewing of the historic 'Long Room' library, Annually the building receives 600,000+ visitors, making it the third most visited tourist attraction in Dublin City. The main entrance frontage has steps to the south, with accessible stone built ramps approaching from the east and west sides. Double front doors to the main pedestrian entrance gives good access and passing through inner lobby doors, once in the building there is reasonably good access to the ground floor public spaces, a Library Shop is utilised as a reception area for visitors wanting to access the Exhibition, 'Book of Kells' and Long Room.

This is a Student Zone/ Zón Mac Léinn on the ground floor of Goldsmith Hall, just along the corridor beside the SU Café. There’s a couple of microwaves to heat food, lots of comfortable seating options, and a couple of pool tables. It can get quite noisy around lunchtime so probably not the best option for studying, but is perfect for meeting friends for lunch and socialising.
The Pavillion Bar

The Pavillion Bar is the campus' student bar, the building also houses the D.U.C.A.C. changing rooms, along with the kitchen and bar stores on the ground floor. There is seating indoors, outdoors, and along the steps adjacent the cricket pitch.
Trinity Biomedical Sciences Institute
TBSI, School of Medicine
The TBSI is a large, glass-fronted building located on Pearse Street. This building contains teaching spaces, labs and offices for science and health science faculties. There is a student space on the first floor which includes seating, study spaces and a kitchenette. There is another similar student space on the second floor which also contains vending machines. There is currently a one-way access system in place, with access into the building via the door on the left of the automatic door entrance (not currently in use). Entry is via swipe card access to the right-hand side of the door. The foyer is a large, open space with an attendant’s desk directly across from the entrance. Access to the main part of the building is via swipe access through double doors next to the attendant’s desk, which leads to teaching spaces, labs etc. To the right of these double doors there is a tall grey wall signage showing directions to rooms within the building. On the right side of the foyer there is a set of stairs leading to the lower level of the building.
Trinity Botanic Gardens
The Botanic Garden is a quiet and peaceful space for the college community to enjoy the nature and an incredible collection of plants. During term time some areas may be slightly busy when they are being used for teaching, but most of the time they are quiet and peaceful. Visitors are welcome to walk the grounds, explore the glasshouses, or rest, read and relax with nature. Trinity Centre for Health Sciences
St James's Hospital
The Trinity Centre for Health Sciences is situated on the hospital grounds adjacent to hospitals 1 and 2. The building was opened in September 1994 and provides purpose built accommodation for teaching and research. Facilities include; lecture theatres, seminar rooms, a pc room, a library, a teaching laboratory, research laboratories, a staff/student common room and a cafe. In addition, it houses the departmental accommodation for the School of Medicine disciplines of; Clinical Medicine, Surgery, Therapeutics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Psychiatry, Nutrition and Dietetics. Located close by are the St James’s Hospital School of Nursing, the William Stokes Postgraduate Centre, the Sir Patrick Dun Research Laboratory and the Disciplines of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Radiation Therapy.

Trinity Hall is an official residence of Trinity College Dublin and is a designated residence for first-year students. There is a vibrant sense of community at Trinity Hall with an active Junior Common Room which organises a number of activities making the residence an ideal place to make friends and get acquainted.

The Trinity Sports Centre houses many sports facilities, a large swimming pool, and a gym. Access to these facilities is usually free for students.

The eight storey Ussher Library accommodates around 360,000 books and 750 readers, and is accessed via the main entrance of the Berkeley Library, an ‘orientation’ space that links the Berkeley, Lecky and Ussher Libraries.
Watts Institute

The Watts Institute houses several large laboratories and lecture theatres, and is connected to the Biochemistry Building via a perspex bridge. The Academic Registry, Admissions Office, Examinations Office, Fees Office, Global Room, Graduate Studies Office, International Office, and Student Records are also located in this building.

A garden area, containing 2 benches at it's centre, with natural growth all around, and many bird/animal feeders.
