The large open concourse is naturally lit, with expansive windows allowing plenty of sunlight to filter in. This area features lush greenery, creating a calming environment amidst the hustle and bustle of academic life.
As a transitional space leading to multiple levels, lecture halls, and departments, the concourse can become quite busy, especially during peak hours. There are many Quiet Spaces that can be used and alternative routes you can take to avoid this.
There are two main entrances to the Hamilton Building, either the O'Reilly-Hamilton entrance or the Watts-Panoz entrance. There are many smaller entrances around the building for specific labs, offices or other facilities.
The Pharmacy Mezzanine Student Space can be accessed via a staircase just to the right of the security hut.
The building is mostly accessible, there is a lift in the main concourse that can bring you to the upper floors to access the Pharmacy and Genetics departments. There is also a lift accessible from the outside that can bring you down to the East End Lecture Theatres (EELT1, EELT2, EELT3).
The Cocker (Chemistry) Laboratory doors are not automated. The Science Course Office is automated and accessible.
There is an Accessible Restroom behind the security hut.
