Description

The SU Kitchen, located within the Teach 6, is a cosy and functional space designed for students to prepare and enjoy their meals, socialise, or take a well-deserved break. The kitchen is equipped with essential amenities, including microwaves, kettles, and a toaster, making it easy to heat up food or prepare a hot drink. Large windows flood the space with natural, bright light, creating a welcoming atmosphere. However, being situated beside the busy sabbatical office space and overlooking Front Square, the area can become lively and loud during peak hours. Despite its central location, the SU Kitchen remains a popular spot for students looking for a convenient and comfortable place to relax.

The sensory experience is shaped by its natural, bright lighting, thanks to large windows that allow plenty of sunlight to enter. While the light creates a pleasant and energising environment, the proximity to the sabbatical office space and the view of the bustling Front Square can lead to higher noise levels, particularly during busy times of the day. This makes the kitchen a vibrant, albeit sometimes noisy, place to be.

To find the SU Kitchen within Teach 6, enter the building via the main entrance. Once inside go up the stairs to the 1st floor and find the signposted door on the left.

There is no lift to this space.

The SU Kitchen, while well-equipped and centrally located, is not fully accessible. The building has ramp access, but the kitchen itself is on a floor that can only be reached by stairs, as there is no lift. This lack of full accessibility may be a barrier for some students. The space is otherwise well-appointed with all necessary amenities.
