Access Tips | Submit a tip
The Museum Building is a visually striking and inspiring space, with its ornate detailing and grand interior making it a pleasure to navigate.
However, it can also be quite lively, especially in the Main Foyer during class changeovers when students are entering or leaving learning spaces. The high ceilings and stone surfaces can amplify sounds, making the space somewhat noisy at peak times.
The building’s intricate design and decorative elements provide a stimulating environment, but the complex layout can be disorienting, particularly when trying to locate offices that are not immediately adjacent to the main corridors or learning areas.
Finding your way around the Museum Building can be challenging due to its historic design and the placement of various offices and departments.
The main entrance, located at the front of the building, leads directly into the Main Foyer, from which most of the learning spaces and departmental offices can be accessed.
Signage within the building may be limited, so it is recommended to familiarise yourself with the layout ahead of time or seek assistance if needed. The east side entrance, while less prominent, provides a quicker route to the Freeman Library.
Unfortunately, the Museum Building is not accessible to mobility aid users.
While the main entrance is the primary point of access, the building's historic structure, including stairs and narrow passageways, limits accessibility.
There are no lifts or ramps within the building, making it difficult to navigate the space.
Visitors requiring assistance are encouraged to contact the relevant department or the college’s accessibility services ahead of time to discuss alternative arrangements.
