Description

The Trinity Global Room is a welcoming student support hub and event space on campus for all Trinity students, assisting students to settle into life at Trinity and Dublin. The Global Room professional team, supported by a team of Student Ambassadors, is available to help students with a wide range of queries, from immigration and accommodation to general advice on living in Dublin. Each year, over 300 events take place in the Global Room, many of which focus on cultural celebrations and social meet-ups for students. When events are not taking place, students are welcome to use the space to meet friends, have lunch, study or simply relax, either on their own or in small groups. To support these different activities, the Global Room offcers different seating spaces, from tables and chairs, couches, high stools, and TCD Sense seating.

Facilities

The Global Room offers a variety of seating options to accommodate different needs. Comfortable couches, armchairs, and communal tables provide spaces for relaxation, socialising, and studying either in small groups or individually.
Numerous plug sockets are available throughout the Global Room, ensuring you can easily charge your devices while you relax or work.
Feel free to bring your own food and beverages into the Global Room. While there are no facilities to prepare food, you are welcome to enjoy your snacks and drinks in this space.

The Global Room is fully accessible to students. Located on the first floor of the Watts Building, next to the Academic Registry, the space is designed to be inclusive and accommodating to all students. There is an accessible toilet outside the Global Room, and more toilets can be found downstairs in the Watts Building.

While events are taking place, the Global Room can be a vibrant and noisy space, however the recent installation of soundproofing has helped to dampen the sound. Outside of events, the Global Room provides balanced environment, offering students choice in seating areas that suit their sensory preferences.

The Global Room is conveniently located beside the Academic Registry on the first floor of the Watts Building. Clear signage throughout the Hamilton Building will help direct you.

Designed to accommodate approximately 80 people, the space includes various seating options, workspaces, and areas for social interaction. The layout encourages a community feel while also providing spots for individual or small group activities.
