The large open concourse is naturally lit, with expansive windows allowing plenty of sunlight to filter in. This area features lush greenery, creating a calming environment amidst the hustle and bustle of academic life.
As a transitional space leading to multiple levels, lecture halls, and departments, the concourse can become quite busy, especially during peak hours. There are many Quiet Spaces that can be used and alternative routes you can take to avoid this.
There are two main entrances to the Hamilton Building, either the O'Reilly-Hamilton entrance or the Watts-Panoz entrance. There are many smaller entrances around the building for specific labs, offices or other facilities
The building is mostly accessible, there is a lift in the main concourse that can bring you up as far as the Hamilton Library.
You can alternatively access the Academic Registry and Global Room by using the Watts Lift.
The Westland Row buildings are generally inaccessible, even at ground floor level.
