Buttery

Description

The Buttery serves as one of the main student cafeterias on campus, located beside the Dining Hall. The entrance is situated to the right of the Dining Hall steps and includes approximately five steps down to the doorway, with the word "BUTTERY" prominently displayed above. The environment within the Buttery is divided into different sections, each with its own distinct sensory features: Main Dining Area: Upon entering, you'll find a wide, open, and bright space where various noises from people and the kitchen travel throughout. The atmosphere here is lively, with the sounds and smells of food filling the air. Kitchen/Food Counter Area: This area is more bustling, with a one-way queuing system clearly marked by signage on the walls and floor. The noise level is higher, and the smells from the kitchen are more pronounced. Vault/Coffee Dock Area: This space offers a more subdued environment with lower lighting, alcoves, and a variety of seating options. While generally quieter, there is a constant humming from the coffee dock, and the space can become brighter and louder when in use. Dining Area to the Left of the Hot Food Counter: A smaller, somewhat quieter space compared to the main dining area. It features less natural light and more fluorescent lighting, creating a different atmosphere.
